Well it has been an incredible few months! We are finalizing plans for North Texas Pagan Pride Day 2008 and I for one am extremely excited about this years festival! I hope that you will be able to make it out and enjoy at least part of the day with us.

Here are the details:

North Texas Pagan Pride Day
www.ntxppd.org
Unitarian Universalist Church of Oak Cliff
3839 W. Kiest Blvd
September 13, 2008
10am – 10pm

Visitor parking will be across the street at the Cliffwood Church of Christ. The west parking lot will be reserved for vendor parking and the east parking lot will be reserved for handicapped parking and performers.

For vendors and volunteers setup will begin at 9am.

Do you think you have the greatest chili in the metroplex? Bring a pot and we’ll test it out! Judging happens at 2pm in the Main Hall kitchen. After the judging we will offer bowls of chili to be purchased for $3 a bowl with all the fixings. Check the website for details on categories.

We have several workshops and performances to choose from as well as many vendors to make your shopping heart glad. All the details are available on the website. The schedule of events has been uploaded to the website as well.

There will be a raffle going on, must be present to win. We will do 2 drawings during the day. There will be a silent auction as well. Last bids will be taken at 7pm and winners will be announced at 8pm. Purchase price is due at this time. We will have Pagan Pride bracelets for sale as well as FEED the PIG stations set up. In addition to all of that (whew! Yes there is more!) we will be taking orders for a North Texas Pagan Pride Day t-shirt. The shirts will be black with our wonderful new logo in green. The cost for the shirts will be $20. Expect a possible 6 week turn around.

We would also like to ask that, if you are able, bring a case of water or a couple bags of ice to donate to the water stations located throughout the event. And don’t forget your food donations for the North Texas Food Bank. Be sure to check out the websites of our featured charities. They need our help!

To bring what I know is going to be an awesome day to an end we will pack everything up around 7pm and bring out the instruments and commence to drumming and dancing. There will be spinning performances happening during the drum jam so it should be very exciting!

For all the details you would ever want, please visit the website. If you have any questions email ntxppd@gmail.com

Is amazed

I shouldn't be but I am. I am amazed by the power of spiritual people and by the love of my friends. I haven't had a lot of friends since HS and even then I don't think that I had the emotional support from my friends the way that I do now. It makes a heart feel good when you know that your friends are there for you and are always ready to take care of you no matter what is going on in their lives.

I don't think that any of them are on Gaia but I wanted to say that I LOVE my friends. Thank you for all that you do.

Something in the air

Have you every just wanted to run away? To be someone completely different? I feel that way sometimes. Especially when I am struggling with a big decision. I never would of course but there are those days when it just seems like it would make everything easier.

I know that a big decision looms over me. And yes I am procrastinating. I think I know what is going to be the answer but its going to be hard. In the end I think it will be good but there will be lots of tears and lots of work to make it all work out.

Besides my personal stuff though, there is something big on the horizon. I have heard several people mention that they "have a feeling" that something big is in the works. Its something good. At least thats what my feeling is. There is definitely something in the air.

So I am working on writing a ritual for Summer Solstice. I have never been very good at writing them out. I am much better at just pulling them out of thin air. This is definitely a challenge for me but one that I feel I need to do. We'll see how it goes.

A New Journey

Having just turned 39 yesterday I have decided it is time to start a new journey. This will be a journey of self dependence, self discovery and amazing new adventures.

While I have been sneaking along this spiritual path for some time now, it is time that I stand tall, walk with purpose and be the priestess I know I can be. It is time to feel like the leader that others see in me. It is time to take my spirituality into my own hands and not depend on others to fill that cup. Everything around me will now be a spiritual oasis. My home, my work, my personal bubble.

Along these same lines, it is time to live my life for me. I have been taking of someone else for so long that I have neglected myself. Living on my own, for the first time alone, will encourage me to take care of only me. It will take a little time to get to a place of my own but it is in the works.

Festivals will abound. Traveling will be paramount in my new life. Even if I have to go alone. It will be okay. It will be good for me to go alone I think. I have friends all over Texas. I am sure that I can visit along the way. Who knows, I may make new friends. It is time for adventure.
